July 19, 2026                                                                                                                    10:00 A.M.

PRELUDE

REFLECTION TEXT                        Romans 8: 24-25

24 For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope, for who hopes for what one already sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP         When A Poor One                A. &. M. Manzano

CALL TO WORSHIP (Responsive)

Surely the Lord is in this place, and we did not know it.

We do not know when and where God’s glorious presence will show up.

Surely we are the Body of Christ.

     We cannot say to one another, “I have no need of you.”

Surely our God is a mystery that cannot be contained.

     Let us worship our unpredictable and uncontrollable God!

OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN           Love Divine, All Loves Excelling                                                 Beecher

Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heaven, on earth be found.

Fix in us a humble dwelling, all your faithful mercies crown;

Jesus, you are all compassion; pure, unbounded love impart.

Visit us with your salvation, enter every trembling heart.

Breathe, O breathe your loving Spirit into every troubled breast;

Let us all in you inherit, let us find your promised rest;

Take away our love of sinning; Alpha and Omega be;

End of faith, as its beginning, set our hearts at liberty.

Come almighty to deliver, let us all your life receive;

Suddenly return, and never, never more your temples leave.

You we would be always blessing, love you as your angels love,

Pray and praise for your unfailing, wounded arms out stretched above.

Finish, then, your new creation; pure and spotless may we prove;

Let us see your great salvation perfectly restored in you;

Changed from glory into glory, till in heaven we take our place,

Crowned as saints, we ever shall be lost in wonder, love, and praise.

CALL TO CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (In Unison)

Lord, you have searched us and found us wanting. You have known our inmost thoughts and called us to better things. You have set us in this world to love and serve you by loving and serving one another, to worship you by tending to those most vulnerable among us. When we fail, do not abandon us. When we go astray, call us back home. Search us O God, and know our hearts. Test us and know our thoughts. Root out the wicked ways in us, and lead us in the way everlasting. Amen.

MOMENT OF SILENT AND PERSONAL CONFESSION

ASSURANCE OF PARDON (Responsive)

Our God does not abandon us to sin or brokenness. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and called back home.

    Thanks be to God!

PASSING THE PEACE

As God has forgiven us in Christ let us also forgive one another.

The peace of Christ be with you all.

     And also with you.

Please share the sign of peace with one another.

The sharing of Christ’s peace.

RESPONSE 306 (Vs. 1)                 Blest Be the Tie That Binds                      DENNIS

Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love.

The fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above.

  HYMN 39                                   Great is Thy Faithfulness             FAITHFULNESS

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (from the Second Helvetic Confession)

The Church is an assembly of the faithful, called or gathered out of the world. They are all citizens of the one city, living under the same Lord,

under the same laws, and in the same fellowship with all good things.

Those who are in the Church have one faith and one spirit; they worship but one God, and in God alone they worship in spirit and truth. Hence, we must be very careful not to judge before the time, nor undertake to exclude, reject, or cut off those whom the Lord does not want to have excluded or rejected, and those whom we cannot eliminate without loss to the Church.

In your world, Lord, be glorified; be glorified. In your world, Lord, be glorified today.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE (Responsive)

  Lord in your mercy,

      hear our prayer.

THE LORD’S PRAYER (Unison)

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

*HYMN                       Let There Be Peace on Earth                        LET THERE BE PEACE

Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me;

Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.

With God our creator, children all are we.

Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now.

With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow:

To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally.

Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.
